I couldn’t talk about it so I wrote a poem

At first we assumed everyone feels just the way we do Being the light of Self in singularity present here in duality Bilocating breath by breath between form and formlessness Mind empty of concepts, heart detached and presence vibrant Moment to moment, all moments entwined in the continuum Embracing and releasing each life touch with nonchalance Attention transfixed in the play of bliss magnetism within Over time we realised souls surrounding us were asleep Which is to say, their consciousness was rooted in the ego Causing them to be enslaved by cravings pertaining to form Insentient to living light of God aflame in the cave of the heart Little wonder, we found it was difficult for us to communicate For we spoke the language of tender love and gentleness Whilst they were oriented toward lust and domination No, it was clear that we did not fit in here, in this zoo No judgments but it was clearly a vibrational mismatch Inundated by the cacophonous din of conditioned beliefs We took shelter in the ever present flow of Holy Spirit within Alone whilst surrounded by unconscious minds all around Choosing a pseudonym and penning our soul’s emote Of the dance of polarities orbiting love in the void

I enjoyed the Spiritual connection I felt in your words and the struggle in us all between spirit and flesh. Whichever we feed the most will be stronger. Poetry is something that feeds my spirit and starves my flesh, most of it anyway. I hope I interpret your words correctly! You write in code which is the poets trade mark! Xoxo

Thank you, Crystal. We each have two selves, the ego or identity related to ephemeral body-mind and our soul related to eternal spirit or God consciousness. We are where our attention is at, becoming what we prioritise.

I am sure you still talk about such spiritual things? No? Well at least you have your poetry and hundreds of poems on the subject.. Congratulations on your placement in the contest..

This is so thought provoking and reminds me of Buddhist teachings. Well done and good luck in the contest.

Interesting poem contrasting the spiritual mind with the fleshly one. The Bible has much to say on the subject. There is a chasm that separates the two and communication on a meaningful level can become challenging, if not impossible. Jesus was up for the challenge though, searching for one heart in a million. His followers do the same, though imperfectly

Appreciate your deep reflections, Tom. Scores of masters and sages across all cultures, including Jesus, Buddha and many others have pointed out the path; we have to walk upon it ourselves, however.
