I Can Keep a Confidence

Children cheer for me Trust me implicitly, Ask me not to “tell the grownups” Their secrets are safe with me Unless they tell me they are being hurt. As a mandated reporter, I have to let them know I am going to help them. Sometimes that means sharing their “secrets”. I can keep a confidence. People know this about me, thus I know more about them than most people. I do whatever I can to make the world run better. I feel it is up to all of us to be proactive in this area. I am always me; people understand this and treat me with kindness.

Good. I've been in this position numerous times, Caren. Our primary responsibility, I think, is to "do whatever...to make the world run better." It's a damn tough job! Sometimes it has its rewards, but often is just painful!

I try to think "How will this help someone" or "what can I do to make this better?" I always attribute this trait from being a small town girl with parents who were empathetic, kind, and the best neighbors imaginable.
