I Came Out As Thunder and Lightning
I was notoriously absent
Missing in action
Unclaimed
By Me
I was in the throes of myself
Yet did not see or feel
Any of my soul self
Until a murder
Of a woman
I barely knew
She was my best friend's sister
And she was fabulous!
All of us were in awe of her since she was ten
She lived her life on her own terms
The original wild child
The female fonze, before the fonze existed
When someone murdered her,
I was reminded that my shy,
unassuming self was
not fully living me
So I came out
as thunder and lightning
Blazing and spitting, kicking ass
Everyone stood back,
Thinking I had lost my mind
When I really
had found
my soul.
