I Bought a Silken Parrot
I bought a silken parrot
I bought a silken parrot
to adorn my bedroom wall
A mirror to the opulence
now hanging in the hall
A mockery, oh some may say,
vicarious indeed
Not slowing down the impetus
of what I think I need
Some often question, why does he
exult at some new find
I say to fill the massive chasm
growing in my mind
Now you may think, what does this mean,
he’s out there with the birds
My answer is, blame Johnny H.,
it was his choice of words
