I Believe
I BELIEVE
I believe in
a baby’s smile
I believe
the distant sound of sparrows at sunrise
the scent of freshly turned Springtime soil
the cool taste of salt-seeded shoreline fog
I believe in the power of
“skipping”
holding hands with a friend and “skipping”
the rekindled laughter of youth
I believe in
the “unbelievable”
the “untouchable”
the “impossible”
I believe
in you
in me
in us
I believe
the distant sound of sparrows at sunset
the scent of Autumn’s bounty
the icy taste of windblown snow
I believe
I always will
