I Am I Was
The hole in my soul has finally gone
As my years of joy and sadness have passed
I awaken now to a dimmer dawn
And wonder how long my days and nights last
Tomorrow is another sunset seen
Yesterday's are full of memories made
It's from them I find the wisdom I glean
To see tomorrow as rendered inlaid
For there will be a day when I will go
And for a time some will remember me
I will have no grave, my ashes will blow
Across barren meadows, no one will see
As time passes I will have never been
Nor will I ever pass this way again
