I Am Her Secret Friend
If we have to wear masks, let’s make them count
I loved the idea, but so many to choose from!
My mother has a Halloween costume room.
We laughed so hard when we went into the grocery.
My friend has a distinctive laugh, many know her.
They recognized her laugh, and called her by name.
Part of the beauty of living in a small town.
No one knew who I was, because I am shy.
I rarely laugh, and no one knew we were friends.
She would have never been seen in public with me
If they could have seen us without masks.
She cautioned me to be silent which I did.
It was a pleasure, for I have always wanted to be her friend
