I Am a Tree

I am a tree Sometimes I stand tall and mighty. Or sometimes I stand short and wimpy. I stand tall in some storms but fall in others. My branches snap and fall, but new ones grow in their place. I lose my leaves, but they come back. I hold memories with each notch and scar on my trunk. Sometimes I shelter others, and sometimes others shelter me. I grow up in the light but not in the dark. I grow all over the place, sometimes in the way. You may try to get rid of me, but part of me will always stay. Some find a home in me, while I find a home in others. I grow around some things, or let some grow on me. I am a tree.
