I Agree
I agree,
I can’t catch the distant moon
The silver treasure disc of the night sky,
I’d see it reflect in the inner mirror
As long as my dreams would make for me one,
And be happy.
I agree,
I can’t stop the sun to span the supine sky
And take away the colors from my dawn,
I’d paint the sunburst horizon on the inner canvas
As long as my eyes would be able to see,
And be happy.
I agree,
I can’t change the course of the flowing times
That takes us to the tumultuous sea of misery,
I’d invent a boat for me to sail to the shore
As fast as my mind could navigate in the tempest,
And be happy.
I agree,
I can’t force the chicks forever to stay
In the nest when they grow up to fly away,
I’d keep a few feathers they’d leave for me
As long as my memory would have space for them,
And be happy.
I agree,
Those once near me gone beyond my reach
Wouldn’t return ever to where they were,
I wouldn’t let their faces fade away in the dark
As long as I could fill my time with the sunlight,
And be happy.
I agree,
I can’t stop the cold sun to set
And the dusk to call the night to fall,
I’d gleam content with peace in the soul
As long as ordained by someone I can’t perceive,
And be happy.
