She was so scrumptious I just needed to squeeze her, kiss her and hug her. We played under the tent that we made from grandmother's knitted quilt. We had so much fun together. She is two and I am nearly sixty, but we were both on the same page. We loved.

the way her face glew her eyes grew wide...so joyful I needed a hug Beneath the blanket a make-shift tent covered us she was mesmerized we peaked through the holes... and watched grandma's face shine as we hid quiet her hours of knitting paid her off in happiness watching both of us Sshh...I said to her grandmother is watching us peek-a-boo; we laughed I love her so much I can't wait to play again I need some more hugs

We become instantly two ourselves, when we become a grandparent to a two year old. I have a hide-and-seek-closet which I muralized from side to side for my two-year-old grandson. He is four but we are still silly, we still love each other ridiculously, and we still hide together in there surprising "the others" when they find us. All the best to you and your lovely grand or grands; I have ten of them! This poem reminds me of all of them.

OMG, "TEN" WOW. You are a busy grandmother (lol). I have three and another in the oven. Isn't it the best to play these silly games with them. Thank you so much, Caren. All the best to you and your lovely grandchildren as well. :)

Oh - I was doing great with my emotional response to your extremely touching write, then I started to type and needed a tissue. I hope this is true, a keeper poem to be left to a child once inside her well-seasoned adult, a poem that a grandchild will dearly treasure. As emotional as I feel now that I've read, all that I wrote might as well of just happened! My Granddad once poetically called me 'Butterfly' and just that melts me every time I recall it - glad my brain let me keep it. CayCay

Hi CayCay. Sorry you needed a tissue (lol) This is 100 percent true :) That's a wonderful thing that "Butterfyl" stuck in your head. Funny how some of the littlest things we experience as children stick with us our whole lives. Wonderful story...Thank you so much! Charlie
