How To Serve Man

The Twilight Zone shows always mesmerized But there was just one episode that terrorized A tall alien had landed in a spacecraft Taken to our leaders, he started to laugh He gave them a book they could not understand The title decoded said, "How to Serve Man" People anxious to be served boarded the ship Prepared for an intergalactic space trip The central character was boarding as well He thought his life on Earth was a living hell Door about to close; you should have seen his look When a friend on the ground warned, "It's a cook book!" "How to Serve Man" was just filled wth recipes And those who had boarded? Their faces did freeze! *Entry for Shani's contest on the most memorable episode of a television series. July 4, 2011

Awesome write dear poet ! As for me, those 'Twilight' shows always made me feel creepy, my family used to watch them, and of course, I would shy away from them ! Great entry though Carolyn ! Have a blessed week my dear friend ! Much love(2u), james

hahaha,I tihnk i may have missed that one. Gosh, Carolyn, you thought like me. I too wanted to do either twilight zone or alfred hitchock episode. But I am gonna go the sentimental route and choose a beloved show I always watched with my family (if I ever get around to it) I need to hurry off and get at it. And the writing teacher too!! I loved this!

Hi Carolyn ... never saw that episode but I did enjoy that show even though at times it scared the stuffing out of me! Rod S. was a great narrator. Thansk for the memories and good luck in the contest .... ought to be a very interesting entertainment filled turn out.

Rob, in speech class in college, we had to write about the "best speakng voice" we'd ever heard. I picked Rod Serling. Today it would be Sam Waterston, James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman, but Serling was king back in the day!
