Anacreontic
An Ancient Greek lyrical form consisting of 20- to 30-lines with three to five syllables per line.
Like a thistle tuft
at the mercy
of the wind;
I cling to
invisible truths.
I've no roots
no destination
no destiny and
no ambitions.
Like a snowflake
in a flurry,
I'm both unique
and commonplace;
just drifting through life.
But you; you’re like
a fledgling dove.
You ride the wind
on wings of hope,
giving fate control
of the reigns.
We share the same air
in different ways.
You're my breath, my soul,
my everything.
You create the breeze
that carries
me aloft, and I
depend on you to
teach me; how to fly.
(Anacreontic)
