How it feels to be loved

it seemed everyone was locked in a dance of platitudes and if I spoke it was like I interrupted the programme, to fit in was to also switch off falling, falling, falling. Stop. I'm cushioned, enveloped, stilled intrigue begins I'll meander through your mind please meander through mine I cannot weep for wandering too far, for losing the path is to find faith the way back will also be beautiful, forever unmapped a Summer's day, endless - lost here holds no danger, there is all the time in the world to spend safe and warm the beginning of a word... nothing else and synapses snap - it's enough, not falling now but swirling somehow transfixed, the music stops but the moment from the melody plays on no questions of where am I, who am I, for I am known and locked in space and time with a feeling of belonging here, now freed from the existential, melted away shackles, weightless, timeless, cognisant of what it is to be I already know you, knew you before, will know you again - a safe space but the coordinates are always a riddle, stumbled upon, a crossed path to linger upon until the next life, ever circling the slipstream of a stars alignment with it's own echo perhaps it's what I see when I look at the moon, the perfect moments of time still in existence stitched into the fabric waiting for the tailor to make the gown I'll wear on the day I arrive

Your work is a like a dream journey through introspection and connection. The dance of platitudes, the serenity after the fall and the mutual meandering through minds all work together to create a vivid and palpable treatment of the prompt. The imagery of a summer's day and the cosmic echoes across lifetimes are beautifully evoked. Your words left me in awe, as usual, and I eagerly anticipate even more of your inspiring work!

I should respond with something that echoes the tone but I think I'll just clap like a seal saying hurray and feel pleased with myself haha

your poem seems dreamlike, surreal. I believe in metaphysics and I also believe poetry springs forth from us metaphysically. Your words created a pause in my thinking...much to ponder here. Best wishes for the contest, SAra

Thank you Sara, I may tighten it up before the contest closes but it's nice to wander and see where it takes me. I was thinking of a couple I really liked on the UK'S Strictly Come Dancing Show in part when I wrote this from a couple of years ago who seem to have an amazingly beautiful connection x

My personal belief is that echoes always remain from one life cycle into to the next, yet the coordinates are indeed a riddle, love your last stanza Dilly, there will be a moon when we arrive again, just not the same one, the tapestry however is always the same, great one for contest, cheers David

I may edit it down, tried to keep it dream like but perhaps too long. Connections do fascinate me though - the way some people literally leave me cold but are popular and the transformation I undergo when with my crowd. Thanks for your comment, always appreciate
