How I Wear Myself Out

I left the car lights on Whilst we went swimming It was a mistake We were singing loudly I didn't hear the warning sound My battery went flat I was rescued But my remorse is low Whilst I recognise the failing The moment of the error Was beautiful It was me and my daughter Singing, full of joy I can't regret the moment Just the judgement laid upon me That I do that kind of thing I feel the task is to question myself But I have no energy For berating myself But the reaction I hold at arm's length And I struggle with it Whether I let it in or not
