How Do You Feel About Taking Medicine

My dad is not one to tell me about his ailments. I have to sneak into the doctor’s office with him to find out things. How long has this been happening? The nurse asks. About six weeks, Dad says. I did not know about his bad eyesight until yesterday! When did you first realize that you were falling down? Maybe a year ago. What? I did not know about it until a week ago. How do you feel about taking medications? I am okay with it, he says. What he means is.... he is okay with taking it home, but probably will not take it. I am speechless, sorry that I had accompanied my parents Luckily, Mom cannot hear, so she has no idea what is happening.

I may have commented on this earlier, Caren. Deb always went with me to doctor's appointments because I have a tendency to minimize my symptoms, and I've been known to not always be truthful. Sad, because good treatment is always based on truth. Definitely true of counselling, too.

Hello Caren, sitting in the doctor's office to listen to what is being said by your father to the doctor, you now know the facts. Hugs.

He is who he is, just love him and accept his reality. Bless you both, Caren. Thanks for sharing your life events with us, Bill
