Chased by destitute Sleeping in the streets himself found With loneliness and despair as his only Companions. In vain he tried to open hope's sails again For the winds of his dreams had died out Due to unforeseen events, bad luck and a dose of Human indifference. And now He looks at the innumerable streets Stretching before his bewildered eyes in fear Wondering If he would ever be able to claim his dream: The portion of a better future That he, as a human being, deserves! © Demetrios Trifiatis 08 December 2019

My heart goes out for these men. Still there are rich men who do not know God and although they have houses they are truly homeless.

powerful, the ending really wraps it up... i have come across many homeless people in my years...i help where i can, you always feel so bad for them...some were once very wealthy individuals .... good write... hugs

Thank you dear, Heidi! We could understand how they feel only when we live like them as they did in London where some people slept out in the cold with the homeless!

Excellent write Demetrios. Homelessness tears a soul apart. ruins a mans morals and self worth is all but lost. Thanks for sharing this
