Homecoming
Across the sky, the wisps of dawn appear
To close a rendezvous that may not last,
While gentle words in silken phrases smear
The hemline of nightfall as you depart:
For duty of war slits my forlorn heart
Rendering eves needled as a pierce dart.
Should faith bring you home; remember the time
When sunsets lounge in field of glittered rays
Bequeathing a vow ...a union sublime
Igniting the dance of rapture which portrays
The blooming morns where devotion obeys
A nourishment ripe through heavenly ways.
Yes, I shall wait for you by the riverside
Until our breaths meet, no shadow could hold
This autumn, next summer, all cycles tied
Entrusting moonlit prayers to unfold
Sweetness of a return from battles cold,
That angels guide you home, a joy extolled--
Affirming strength of this love, so daring
Despite time’s ploy, our hope unwavering.
