When I was a child, little Like the kitten and puppy Who lean on their grownup elders For food, shelter and affection I lived in a trailer Called a mobile home By some who don’t know It’s just a trailer on cinder block It’s just a trailer to live in With grownups who give you Their gifts of direction Fears, praise and love Or what they can of hope Faith and grace Like the kitten Always playing, delighting In the thrill of learning I grew too old to play Like the puppy Always hungry for more Than I could take in I grew too old to partake The trailer, rusty tin Faded into a past That I would love to be in

Once again, such interesting ink. Nice to see a boost for the (much-maligned) trailer-home. Bravo, Regina. :) gw
