Holly Tree And The Robin - Anacreontic couplets

Oh, holly tree, friend to me, with scarlet berries to see that delight my eyes to feast as winter’s dearth so released. To rest my head upon leaves of evergreen, glossy sleeves - spiny foliage shall seek to hide ruddy breast and beak. Melody of song I call for you with snow’s silent fall, and I, messenger of hope, shall brighten days of white scope. Sacred for peace and goodwill, bringing warmth to season’s chill, forever so shall you be - Oh, holly tree, friend to me!

Wow...... so beautiful with perfect natural rhymes. Love the flow and beautiful word choice. It spreads happy vibes all around. "spiny foliage shall seek to hide ruddy breast and beak. Melody of song I call for you with snow’s silent fall," I visualize this scene ...a robin red breast hiding among foliage and singing melodiously! Congratulations in your well deserved POTD. Dearest Christina, enchanting poetess, your poem is breathtaking! I adore the nature imagery, I love both holly trees (so vibrant against winter snow) and robins. Your artistic use of symbolism brings your verse to depths of amazing! I just loved "Melody of song I call/for you with snow’s silent fall,/and I, messenger of hope" - wow! though every golden verse is a gem! I also admire how you bookended your stunning poem with the same verse. Your soulful essence and creative skills shine. Congratulations for your wonderful win in Silent One's contest. Warmest wishes my sweet friend.. ~Susan

Oh, this is a beautiful poetic exposition, Christina, and I see you've earned a POTD winner for it, an added plus I'm sure. A side note that after nearly a year of recuperation, the hospital kept its promise of my returning home before the holidays--literally, with a 90% recovery with continued home care.
