Hollow words echo loud like empty cans
as they rattle in your mind and roll away
saying nothing you can truly understand
vacant thoughts that ramble wildly all astray.
Hollow words don’t express good things of life
to bring joy, sharing, caring and cure wrong.
They possess a sounding curse so rife
and in their nothingness an evil strong.
Hollow words become fabricated lies
spoken only to produce desired ends.
In war with cunning forces gentle hearts outcry
to stand for truth which they honestly defend.
Hollow words don’t lead on to fated dreams.
They bring deceptions and misguided rue.
The speaker soon gets caught quick in the scheme,
never knowing their own lies from what is true.
