Hold It Together
How do you hold this growing weight with such dignity and grace
how can you expect yourself to last long at this pace
with no one there to help you I guess you have no choice
so you get irritated easily and often raise your voice
Your spirit takes a beating every single day
but somehow you make it easy just to send the pain away
your soul holds you together, its a fighter with the strongest of wills
and it refuses to surrender throughout the pain that it must feel
Your mind can be your closest ally setting your focus and your mood
all of your progressive thoughts become your minds new source of food
sometimes you might folly, sometimes you'll slip and fall
but never let a failure make your heart and ego small
'This world is your oyster' remember that cliche
but you feel its just a ruse to to trick everyone to play
along with their ideas, their well-thought schemes and plans
but you choose to think your own thoughts like an old stubborn little man
You're stuck in your ways and there's nothing wrong with that at all
just don't let the world push you because it will try and make you fall
but really life is full of beauty, reminiscent thought
it's about the love given for free, not the kind that must be bought
