His First Love

His first love No, it was not a dream there was a war going on of which he understood little only that the German soldiers that was camped nearby gave him chocolate. He had met a little girl and was in love they sat under a wooden bridge, the water trickled when he asked her to marry him. She said no and he bit her arm. She cried and ran home to her mother. He was told not to be so aggressive, the little girl´s new boyfriend was a farm boy his contempt was absolute. The war was coming to an end the German army surrendered and was marched to the railway station, he waved they had been good friends, was told not to he waved anyway his streak of protest. Enemy and friend, it is difficult to know when you are four years old.
