High Mountain Mind
The mountain lake glimmers,
there’s a shine, a luminous sheen
upon its nocturnal waters.
My camp is nearby,
but the star-shimmer upon the lake
initiates my eyes with deeper insights.
Standing clear of my thoughts
I sail the slow rippling surface
an astral light tracing my mind
into an astrological map of being.
A thing not of water nor air
yet stretched beyond heaven,
an alien humanity
far above this mountain scene.
Later, at rest and ease
under dark canvas,
I still gaze up and look down
searching for that celestial face.
