Heroes
When I think about Heaven,
My thoughts are on those passengers from nine-eleven.
Heroes aren't made, they're born.
Overcoming all obstacles regardless the category of the storm.
I can't begin to fathom the caliber of a heroes success,
And the passion of a legend can be hard to digest.
Amazes me a person would jeopardize his own life to offer his hand.
Without a purpose of plan he helps another to stand.
A firefighter runs into a tenant building that's engulfed in flames,
Not knowing names, he saves five.
But sadly he doesn't make it out alive!
We remember, honor that nameless volunteer.
He gets the Good Samaritan award of the year.
He dedicates his free time to those in need.
We honor that preacher and teacher inspiring young minds to succeed!
For that soldier on the battlefield fighting for our nation,
I think our citizens should show more appreciation.
So many heroes have come and gone.
But their memory will forever live on!!!
