Here Then the Blessing

HERE THEN THE BLESSING

  Please come visit me
Here, then  go in Your glory forth.
I’ll treasure the gifts 
You bring to me — the graced
Promises of caring and the song.

Do visit me before
Another dream comes along.
The hours of this night
Have unfurled as I lay
Restless and alone — 

Watching my candle flicker, 
Throwing deep-gray shadows
Over and across my room…
As my sleepy prayers stutter on,
Hoping You will come

With Your fulfilling love and light,
So sweetly, peacefully,
My soul might rest again…
And I go on, thankful, and 
Renewed into the coming dawn.

Michelle Faulkner June 29, 2022 at 2:05 PM Your imagry of the flickering candles and gray shadows speak to the futility of trying to find sleep when beset with worry, but the return of dawn and hope brought peace, this is so moving~
