Here and Gone

There comes a time when one must step aside.
Leaving bits and pieces of their heart behind.
In life everything may not be what it seems.
For some it is a lesson they still must learn
Memories will be left of sweet words spoken.
Love and friendship was always freely given.
The voice only heard in the poetry they wrote.
A chapter of life has now been forever closed.

A truth... that bares a part of our soul... Sooner or later we'll all leave PoetrySoup and our friends... and not necessarily by choice... Beautifully written.

Carol; I like this poem, but it's sad. I know that we are here today and gone tomorrow. You are one of the few that has been reading my work since I started here, I just hope and pray that you are not leaving. Please stay. We need you here. Many blessings. Lucilla

While reading these sad but beautiful lines, one can only take a dive, deep into the world of hard truth that nothing is permanent in this Universe. A flower that blooms to-day shall no longer be spreading its fragrance forever. But Carol so long we can spread something to share with, we should not think negative. Keep spreading your smiles & fragrance on the horizons of Poetry Soup till God allows you to do so. We all wish you a long life. Great write Carol. Love& best wishes..Ravindra..C Brown

I'm at the time where I'm seeing others step aside and wondering if I can fill their foot steps, if only slightly. And I see my time not too far off either. A well written poem. I hope you still have time remaining.
