Her Kiss
The winds of heaven were the only ones to kiss me.
Before your lips bestowed their tenderness and bliss.
Now, how can I yearn for kisses from the past
When yours have given me such utter bliss?
I sought the sea, and in response, she sent her winds
They surrounded me and sang of southern lands
But I turned away, desiring to preserve
The sanctity of your kiss upon my mouth, so grand
Even April's rains, sweet and swift, could not compare
To the living kisses that your lips impart
I bowed my head, fearful they may quench my light
Just as rain can extinguish a flame's spark
I belong to my love, and she belongs to me
Our love sealed and secure for all eternity.
