Hovering, then swirling away brown leaves,
every tree lets go of emerald gowns;
lace of snowy white soon entwines and weaves,
lacy filigree falling in all towns . . .
Orange, brown and red leaves still rest in eaves.
Whimsical and dreamy these first snowflakes,
intricate and delicate snow falling;
now, my garden hidden and my heart aches
then, winter fury is here and blowing . . .
Ecstasy is walking the frozen woods,
running on ice- we recall past childhoods.
