Heavy Blue

The deep sighs come unbidden, Without my knowing why. A love that is no longer Yet hurts too much to cry. Tears pooling in my heart To stay there until death. They over-flow into my breast And I must catch my breath. How much does sorrow weigh? My scales do not say true. How long the yard-stick needed To measure color blue? Pain ever escalating Shall be at ending never. The weight, the time, the measuring, The sighs go on forever. 5/10/20

Joyce. Only someone who has gone through painful suffering could write this poignant description. So sad but so beautifully written.

If this had of been written in free verse form, Joyce, it would have topped the winners list. Wonderful writing, Joyce. Elaine

Thank you Barbara. I missed that this should be free verse which I am not very good at. Joyce
