HEAVENLY NIGHT
High in the night sky
A star shone bright
Casting its beam over all the land
Creating a marvelous light
Out in the fields and surrounding hills
Lowly shepherds watched their flock
When suddenly there appeared an angel
Leaving the shepherds in shock
The angel spoke gently to them
Do not be afraid
Tonight a Savior for all the world
Was in a manger laid
There was no room in the local inn
So a stable became his abode
His mother though tired from the trek
On the back of the donkey she rode
Never let her Baby see
The tired look on her face
As she leaned close to kiss his cheek
As He slept in this lowly place
The bright shining star from up above
Shone down where the Baby lay
In the manger that was His bed
As He lay sleeping in the hay
This Baby will one day rule the world
And all things will be made right
By the Christ Child born in Bethlehem
On this star lit Heavenly Night
