Heartbroken
***
I thought our love would be for forever;
but you threw it away saying whatever.
The hurt I felt was like a stabbing knife;
thinking for sure this would end my life.
I could barely breathe or even speak;
taking to bed feeling so mentally weak.
My heart and soul hurt with heartbreak;
weeping so many tears I could fill a lake.
Then, I realized that the sun still did rise;
and rejected love like ours soon dies.
And thanks because you were not the one;
a waste of my time and now we are done.
Yet, a part of me will always remain broken,
because of all the words we left unspoken.
"Love is a wine sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet."
