Heart Race
My heart keeps on beating
But it almost stopped yesterday
As it went on its own race
On the side of the highway
Now, I am thankful to be home
Safe again, but work doesn’t stop
If only I could get a break
To rest with no more heart flip flop
Now, all is quiet in the twilight
I watch the sky change for now
The air is cold, but the house is warm
Everything will work out somehow
