He Wanted Me To Be Happy

Love is hard, Love is tough. Its ups and downs, Spin you around, Like a never ending rollarcoster. When it gets rough, do you stick around or do you leave? sometimes that even gets me. I had this man for almost two years, when all of the sudden, I couldn't believe my ears... I can't make you happy, I see it in your eyes, I can't stand to see you always ready to cry. We should see other people. This happened two times before, Got me so sick I fell to the floor. Keeled over, ready to hurl, I then felt like a helpless little girl. I kicked a hole in the wall, Then went outside, only to catch myself as I fall. I threw a wine bottle, It was for our next date, And it shattered like my heart, In a million and one pieces. I called and called, my two old friends, but no answer. Finally one called me back, And I went to see him the next day. He held me as I cried, A part of me had died. He brought me to a movie, even dinner too. After that, I truely knew. I can go on, He will always be a part of me, But now I knew he wasn't the one. Maybe we will talk again soon... until then... I will have memories of a love, that never will die, And I will soon be able to see another guy... Although he will always be my first true love, I will move on. Head held high, Looking into the future, Hoping to be as happy, Or even happier with someone else. He wanted me to be happy, And if I cant be happy with him, I shall be happy with someone else, Keeping his last request, Before he left me behind in distress.
