He Called His Name

Paradise to the old man was a humble garden, A peaceful sanctuary for rest and meditation, Reminiscing and counting his blessings. An angel found him there and softly called his name, Delivered a message, with a tender smile, and Invitingly he held out his hand; he followed. Standing by the door, the Lord greeted him with open arms: Enter, your long journey has come to an end; welcome home! ---------------- To those who believe in an after life ...enjoy the inspiration. To those who do not ........................enjoy the narration. ---------------- 25th December 2015 Contest: Paradise Acrostic Sponsor: John Hamilton Placed 5th

Love this acrostic Paul, especially because I had an NDE(Near Death Experience) when I was 13. The Afterlife is a beautiful place of Love.

I think I'll take both, thank you very much ... why settle for one? :) I thought it cool how your old man was in a garden, only to transcend into a more heavenly garden. Nice transition. On a side note am I the only one that finds it amusing how a person named John Hamilton is hosting a contest called Paradise, which is incredibly similar to the author John Milton who wrote Paradise Lost??

I'm glad you liked the transition, Timothy...from a minor heaven to a higher heaven. Interesting point you make about JH and JM! I did not pick up on that since I have a friend by that name and I'm used to it. What about Craig and Cornish Sonnets?!:) // paul

Well, I for one, enjoyed the inspiration and the clever way you took him to paradise without out and out saying so, creative and beautiful, Paul ... CayCay

A creative different point of view for Paradise, an inspiration to read so must have been to put to paper so to speak. This would be a 7 from me. It touched my heart.

Last night, Christmas night, I had a dream. A voice said: get up and write it in your own words...in simple words. I did! Is it a poem or just a dream? I really do not care! It is a lovely day, and I’m a happy old man! Blessings to all!
