Hazard Part II

My mother came to Hazard when I was just seven; I took off and fled that town, filled with so many lies. Now? This boy’s alright… Two years ago when I finally found Mary she looked so different, but still had those broken eyes; A window to the girl inside… We used to walk down by the river She loved to watch the sun go down; We planned to walk along the river and run our way out of that town.. No one understood the depth of Mary so adored but always walking out of school alone; She avoided home. We used to walk to school every morning She would always say ‘All I want is for the kids to stop watching me.’ Now I know she made it to the river, She cut the chains that had her bound; I knew she made it off the river and ran her way out of this town.. A Tribute to Richard Marx.
