Thank you, Bill. Yes, the verse is very familiar to us and we as Christians can see the field of white but how many will be reached. Thanks for the visit with a Christian point of view. Sara

Sara, i love the poem, not a fan of picture poems, would rather the words do the visual, and your poetry does just that.

TS, The fluffing happens when the cotton is ripe for picking. Cotton was a cash crop for the farmer so it was a very important one. Thanks for your nice review of of my work. Sara

Mystic, Yes. It is good to see the results of our hard work as my husband does as he works in his garden. Also, it is awesome to know we have had some influence on a person and have helped them to become part of the harvest. Thanks for the kind review. Sara

Thank you, Supraja. I liked that picture of a family out working the fields trying to get the harvest in as soon as possible. Sara

Humanity must learn to go back to subsistence farming and the reciprocal system, thus learning to share, each family growing, nurturing and feeding their land, however small the area is. By doing so, we will live a healthier life, living more naturally, than we ever dreamed of! I love your pic and your poem a fave. Hugs, blessings Jennifer.

I am so honored that you have faved this one. We have a little garden. We had English Peas with new potatoes yesterday and turnip greens with turnip root today. We have had very little rain in about a month now and my husband is having to water everything. He gave both our daughters food from the garden. They enjoy eating fresh like we do. I don't know how much longer I can prepare the food though. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

I like your Ekphrasis poem, Sara, and the picture. Reminds me of my cotton-picking days when I was a boy working for my uncle. Hard work, but it was worth it, my aunt was a great cook. :-) Smiles ~ Blessings, Bill

Bill, My father let me pick a little when I was very young so I could experience what it was like. Not a fun time for sure. I don't do bugs, heat, or anything heavy. LOL..My adoptive father had no idea that I had a hole in my heart which I was born with so he did not know I should not be doing that. I am glad it at least had some good experience in it for you i.e. the good food but you were probably very hungry and most anything would have been good. Sara
