Harbinger of Time

                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Whilst waiting patience is a probity,
swifter straddling startled savvy scare
strong for people enduring anguish
trope for enthusiastic people,
too lilliputian for those who cheer.
Those who love recognize time as ethereal,
gifts of love are treasures to share
employ time as a tool, not a pillow
action and purpose yield rise to true might
be a bestow you wish to sight
spread love wherever you are, and let it be
anxiety must be our fiercest nemesis.
Time toss tethered toward tremendousness,
Oh, imbue me as incipient of all from naught
mellifluous marvels ream in a cosmic choir,
break free from the bounds of time
to embrace the cycle of love
where timeless melodies chime
emanates from above.
Curbs rule our existence
Oh time, waft tidier trek soon to close
Imbue hours of leaden motion
whose velocity is akin to a prolific plummet
Indulge in what your womb ingests
That is merely conceit and deceptive.
Tackle me in comely lagoon ambrosian buds
just mere mortal dross,
truly inconsequential is this loss
assuming you've fulfilled all the tasks,
and lastly, your greedy self-squander.
It's time to rest and reflect
we have a pontoon to moor our destiny
embracing the unknown, facing setbacks
our biggest desire and worst role is time.
Carpe diem and shatter the spell,
oh, how time runs! Spry and specific
as a banana, fruit butterflies roam,
employ time as a tool, not a pillow,
happiness causes time to fly by
It stops for no one; its pace can't be outrun
time shrinks space oddly.
Esoteric bits prevail in life—not landmarks.
Life reckons many ephemeral shards,
a clock is always ticking; it never stops
akin to a river, its flow is ceaseless,
time passes quickly, casting shadows,
a heirloom of memorable occurrences,
time-wasters are the first to complain
Speaking of its scarcity, they lived in vain
Gifts of joy are treasures to share
Action and purpose yield rise to true might
Be a bestow you wish to sight
Spread love wherever you are, and let it be
We must dread fear itself.
In the firm-flowing of time, be an arrow
love is a marvel when shared deeply
each hour must be handled, as time is scarce
let's bear the most of it before it slips away
but avoid letting it pass through a sand filter
time doesn't wait, that's for sure!
It shrinks areas, making odd things normal
join us and sail toward the light!
withdrawing dimly into the bright
the past and future both reside inside
let's mix into one, with love as the ride
embrace flames; let the real you radiate
the only way to truly relish the divine
milestones don't define life; moments can
allow love to lead us as we cherish each day.
Harbinger hype halcyon heaven.
Handspike humbleness heartthrob honorable hug.
Sappiness swallows us sweepingly as a swell.
Simply divine,
truth, Peace, and Love will always shine,
as a child, time crept as I wept and fret,
as a boy, I dreamt and deflect as time trekked
reaching maturity, time seemed to slip away
as I aged, and grew every day, time flew
time devourer, you beat the lion's paws
Inspire the ground to eat her comely draws
remove sharp fangs from jaws of a ferocious tiger
and blaze in her blood the long-lived Phoenix
as you flung, create seasons of joy and despair
don't leave any grooves with your obsolete pen
allow us to proceed untarnished on your path
still, you behemoth of a time!
In my poem, my love will always be young
as I start my trek to eternity, with a flung.
Ah dr sotto, what a profound write this is, brilliant, and well crafted with excellent metaphors, alliterations and creative wordplay throughout, i really love so many lines in this, i got lost within your exquisite lines, like a beautiful labyrinth of various shades of time, flowing seamlessly. I especially loved the ending “ In my poem, my love will always be young as I start my trek to eternity, with a flung.” Soul touching really! Your poem, kept me intrigued! Powerful! Congratulations..
SP, time is such an interesting topic. I'm thinking using it as a pillow is for the depressed. Been there. It's very unpleasant to let the present pass by. Yes it is only a tool. Hard to understand the role of time from a cosmological standpoint outside of its effect on our own lives
Much effort you devoted to this long dialogue on reign of time. ---Time toss tethered toward tremendousness, Oh, imbue me as incipient of all from naught mellifluous marvels ream in a cosmic choir, break free from the bounds of time ---wow!
Time is the one thing we can never get back. So each moment wasted is to be regretted. Make use of time to reap the best rewards. "employ time as a tool, not a pillow" . This line is the crux of the poem. Within the allotted time we have to disseminate as much goodness and love as we can. This poem is made so vibrant with the use of metaphors and beautiful alliteration. I like how you have measured the flow of time with each stage of life.... as a baby, time crawled, as a boy, time trekked, in maturity, time slipped away and in old age, time flew.... ! Right observation! Great composition, dear friend...
If only time was as friendly as Nature. Lovely piece, it exudes all your feelings of reality. Time is a lover's worst friend. I loved these lines "Let's bear the most of it before it slips away but avoid letting it pass through a sand filter time doesn't wait, that's for sure!" Yes! Let's take that risk, whatever it is, love, adventure. Make the most of time and create memories to leave behind or take alongside to the other dimension. Nice one Sotto.
First thing I noticed is your play with H, S & T words, much fun. Eternity is a long time; judgement seems to follow it. Life's moments through time expressed vicariously. A wonderful entry, SP!
Dear Sotto, Your poem is a amazing journey through the complexities of time and the essence of existence. It’s a call to embrace love, purpose, and the fleeting moments that define our lives. Your words are a testament to the enduring power of the human spirit and the beauty found in every passing moment. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt reflection. - Blessings, Daniel
