Happy New Year

A child spoke to me
an old face smiles --
somewhere far away
and deep – a journey
of years and miles.

I think of a salvage heap,
discarded dreams for the
crushing...we take nothing
with us, a final leap, If
only the method my choice!

A Salvage heap of discarded
dreams – from them, perhaps
new metal for another’s schemes.
For mobility and conquest,
though a journey is seldom all it
seems --

So the child longs to be adult --
while the adult just wants to yet be,
reaches fondly back
                  for immaturity.
One last sip of youthful longing….

You express well the gullibility of both Age and extreme youth Joe Dimino' I Have no definitive knowledge other than ' faith hope Love..I trust Christmass was well for you.' May your New year be blessed..I see now we do Agree on many things.? Yet not all yet God made humans not robots..Man is doing the robots moreso than ever now Something telling in that.' Take care.'

Hi Joe; I would be a liar if I did not say that I miss the excitement of being young again. I had a quiet Christmas, the wife and I just stayed home. Neighbors popped in and out. It was nice. Don't like to travel anymore. A lot to keep me happy and content at home. Received treats in the mail from family. Lots to munch on.

Thank you, Paula; the day was cloudy only, but we must of had some rain last night because my water barrels were full this morning. Plenty fresh rainwater now to give my porch plants. Hope you have had a lovely Christmas with your friends and family. New Year around the corner. Blessings.

I have had more than I sip with my Bordeaux at lunch. Merry Christmas, my friend.
