Happy Memories
My world is broken now she’s left my life,
My world has drifted away,
And the only thing left that makes my heart sing,
Are the memories of what she would say,
When she’d stare in my eyes, through to my soul,
She’d whisper three words I love most,
And then turn and laugh and throw her hair back,
Exposing every bit of her throat,
But the problem I have with each of these thoughts,
Each moment of our private affair,
Is that it nails my happy away to the past,
It leaves me in abject despair,
So now the one thing that makes me saddest the most,
The one thing that makes my heart ache,
Is the happiest time that I lived in my life,
The happy time that I can’t seem to shake.
