Halcyon
The Gods indeed did calm the days
Existence suspended in the haze
Cares floated away on the breeze
Let me linger, longer, please
Halcyon days arrive unexpected
Hearts and minds somehow connected
Time sped up and yet stood still
As soul's inner peace I felt refill
My memory now plays tricks on me
Can't reconcile how those days could be
Now peace and calm somehow evades
Long gone the days of serenades
