Haibun - a Wake Upon Time's Surface
A Wake Upon Time’s Surface
A distant breeze beckons, tugs at passion’s anchors, a soft mist obscures the future. I sit idly, rocked by the rippling of time’s passing, soothed by the wind whispering its secrets to dancing leaves, becalmed in an eddy of circular beauty. I watch as a cautious doe shields her fawn, a swan leads me away from his nesting mate, turtles seeking sun climb fallen trees. I feel the shadow of the circling Osprey’s chill. A turtle’s head slowly withdraws, the bullfrogs go silent, the beaver slaps a warning,my paddle stirs the moment, a wake upon time’s surface.
