Growing Up We never had Disney junk, We never had phones, attached to our hands. We never thought much of bullies, as there was often if not always, a hero on hand. That was the world I knew. There were many, but a few. That loved to do crazy stuff. We stood in line for Star Wars, on the very first night. We were quiet and respectful, when the shuttle blew apart, in the sky. When soldiers walked by, we saluted, and thanked. When homeless were found, They were given, food and shelter. We went to church on Sunday. We watched cartoons the morning before. We laughed at All in the Family, and made jokes, not correct now. We were not black or white, or any color in between. It, life, was real, and honest, and we knew, that together… we could reach the stars.

Ann, great write. We had similar values when I was growing up, sadly values that are slowly eroding. I am so glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's. For me the world was a simpler place to live. Loved this!! Ron x

Youth and idealism – sometimes it's a good pairing, at other times anything but. Good ending. Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my work. Best to you in your writing endeavors. / M
