Grounding Contest

Crystal droplets hang Mirror reflects wall Uncluttered ceiling Corners catch my eye Curtains are both drawn Leg upon leg Teeth pressing tongue Chest rise, chest fall Eyelid flicker Breathing slows Distant hums Elsewhere train Cotton Nothing Self

Thank you Thriveni - I'll have to take a look through the winners. The contests where it's possible to end up with similar poems but them still being very different is fascinating. Thanks for your kind words x

Are the crystal droplets a chandelier? This is so well written, i really loved the idea of grounding technique contest and youv done it very well, i can hear you inhale and exhale too as i read this. How descriptive! Brilliant! And the ending with “self” gives a touch of mindfulness so very well! Of you alone in silence, paying close attention to distant sounds too! I might do this: need some grounding! Best wishes for the contest. Sending you light always

Yes, there was quite a few chandeliers all over the house when we moved in and I've never changed them. Whenever I have to get them down to clean I do consider it though! It was a nice one to do - again planning how to end the poem would have been a good idea as there are far too many weak endings available if mistimed. Thanks for your comment, appreciated

Thank you - I'm lucky I wrote it before brushing my teeth or I could have ruined the whole thing with 'mint' as the last line :)
