This haiku is highly effective due to its strong use of sensory details (sight, taste, touch, smell) that build an appealing image of a tropical citrus fruit. It evokes feelings of freshness and the simple pleasure of nature's bounty. The progression from the broad category ("tropical citrus") to the specific characteristics ("sweet, bitter, juicy") and finally to the simple, iconic form ("fragrant yellow ball") creates a rich experience for the reader.
