Grandpa's Grit
All my life there's been one man I truly admire.
For all his life he's worked so hard without tire.
Even after all these years, he's still so dear
To every person he's ever met around here.
All my life he's helped me through.
Even when I was at my worst, I always knew
Just how much he loves me,
Despite how stubborn I often choose to be.
All my life, I could never thank him enough,
'Cause sometimes when I ask for help, it's tough.
All I really want my grandpa to know,
Is it's because of his wisdom, why I continue to grow.
All this time, he seemed more of a mystery,
But over time, I came to learn his own history
Is surprisingly similarly just as painful as my own.
That's why he's truly the strongest man I've ever known.
