Why do people gossip about each other? Do you know what gossip is? It's Slander, pure and simple. If anything so cruel and hurtful and truly hate filled can be called pure or simple. It doesn't take much brain power to mouth off and cause someone else problems and for certain it causes enough confusion and hurt that it's anything BUT simple. In my time I have been the recipient of gossip, the SUBJECT of gossip and much to my discredit, at times, the carrier of gossip. I have never seen gossip do anyone any good. It's spiteful and cruel and most often not completely true. It generally comes from people with little else to occupy their minds. If there isn't a good soap opera on TV they create one. The trouble is gossip, like most viruses , will sicken and can even kill it's victims. The best thing to do with the rotten little bug is to kill it the minute it raises it's ugly little head.
