Goodbye 2020, Hello 2021
When I think back on 2020 I want to weep,
and I think there is no memory I want to keep;
then, I pause because I did learn about me,
and was able to free myself of a lot of debris;
I found out who I was in this horrible year,
now, I have great tranquility and all is clear !
In 2020 I have taught myself to let go of time,
and from all the wants and needs I now climb;
in this new year of 2021 I will live each day,
it is okay to do nothing and quiet- just stay;
must, want and need are now I would like,
I don't have to do anything- I am on strike !
Can sleep all day if I want and no one cares,
watch TV in my bed with my cat upstairs;
can lose myself in music or a book if I desire,
will write and write until my pen is on fire;
I have found my quietness and my peace,
and in 2021 I know my joy will only increase !
