Computer catfish anglers Are out phising every second, day and night Trawling the world wide web with baited hook For innocent victims to catch Internet sites such as Facebook and Twitter Supply them with constant schools of fish How easily they reel in trusting people with their deception Can you be one hundred percent certain A person behind the computer screen is for real? Trolls don’t live under the bridge like in fairy tales Fake profiles, false pictures and fraudulent names Intended to disguise who they really are Sadly some victims of their abuse resort to suicide Hope these evil ‘catfish’ get caught and end up in court Catfish Contest Sponsored by Catie Lindsey 5/30/18

I agree Connie, they can be so vulnerable and sadly paedophiles are out there and taking advantage of vulnerable young people and sometimes these have dreadful consequences:-) hugs Jan xx

So true. They will lure and catch anyone they can for their own personal gain. Enjoyed reading your contest entry. Reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Thanks for the visit to my page. My husband loves those garlic dill pickles then the scent is on everything in the house that he touches. What is worse then I touch those items and wham bang it is on my hands. It will not wash off doorknobs. Sara

Not just personal gain but to bully and belittle and sadly we had a manx girl who died from bullying by internet trolls - it seems once one person starts other join in, it is so tragic. I love the dill pickles as does my son lol:-) hugs Jan xx

It would be lovely if the poem was read by youngsters James as they are the ones who need to be more aware with the 'paedophile predators' who prey on innocent children:-( hugs Jan xx

Oh how easy it is to be deceived by those who hide behind a computer screen and make another person's life a misery -I've seen it with 2facedbook after a young lass here committed suicide from bullying by cyber trolls and i wrote a poem called 'being bullied' which has been used on a website about internet bullying:-( hugs Jan xx

It’s sad when people prey on vulnerable Linley people. This is good to shine a light on the problem.

It's not just lonely people who are targeted - anyone can fall victim to these monsters as they are like chameleons and it is both men and women who are trolls:-( hugs jan xx
Date: 5/30/2018 1:23:00 PM
ahem.... I'm twenty-nine and lookin' fine. Trust me, Baby. I'm lookin' for love and you sound perfect for me....There's the juicy bait, dangling from the hook and for some sweet innocent, that's all it took. The hook, the come on line, and the stinker of a sinker. Kudos, Jan.

Hi Jan, This is a good entry for the contest. I agree with your well written Acrostic. It so scary not knowing who's on the other side of the computer screen. Let's just continue to hope that these evil impostors/ strolls will have their day in court. Excellent job on shining light on this "real" issue . I wish you the best of luck in the contest -Alexis

It happens more than we think. Even on poetry sites. Don't trust a soul for ulterior motives are lurking behind the mask. Caution is your friend Jan. Great poem
