heroes fight and then they die
a broken sword and questions of why
shattered shields upon the ground
silent graves without sound
here I lay in this ditch
with the world going dark as pitch
the sounds of battle die away
as i live my final day
my axe has split
my bones broken
with you my heart went
taking words unspoken

my hand is shaking
my last breath taking
all the dreams i had in me
my blood is spilling
proof of my killing
