Going Going Gone

The first day of October. Oh, the chill when I arose; then it occurred to me that gone for good was warm September’s thrill. The cooling has begun! Naturally, it always comes around this season, yet I think this year, the winter might arrive more quickly than it did last year. I get a feeling that I’d rather not revive - that same old melancholy that each fall in cooled October , without fail, begins. Oh, how I wish the ending I could stall. Like dried leaves in the wind, my poor head spins through Halloween, Thanksgiving and the cheer of Christmas – going. . . going. . . gone - my year! Love it all, but especially "Like dried leaves in the wind, my poor head spins" ~ great depiction of time feeling like it's moving much to quickly ~ :)

Christmas comes but once a year people say but where does the year go? Autumn is actually my most favorite season of the year - I adore the colours. Great write Andrea - good luck in the contest. Hugs and blessings.

They say there is no time, yet in our reality it seems there is and it keeps going by faster as age creeps up. A wonderful sonnet for his contest Andrea! I found it a bit hard NOT to write about the trees and colors of autumn as he asked for something different, but you did it! Lovely! : ) xxoo

I know, right? Halloween, Thanksgiving and I am not yet done with summer plus Christmas was just last week, wasn't it? I'm not ready for coats, cold and goosebumps literally or figuratively. All this fussing is me embracing the feel you delivered, it is a sonnet that I relate to as I've never before fully fall-sonnet related before. Can u tell I'm in a mood - do u think my new # gave me a new attitude? I'm grinning and love ya ... CayCay

Beautifully done Andrea. Funny, the one I wrote for this contest I wrote incorrectly and someone pointed it out to me so I had to go in and add to it. : ) Best wishes in the contest my friend.
